POSITION TITLE:        PE Teacher/Coach for the 2024-2025 school year

 

QUALIFICATIONS:       Minimum of bachelor’s degree with proper Tennessee endorsement in Physical Education K-12.

 

REPORTS TO:               Principal and/or Supervisor

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Teachers- 10 months (200 days) with benefits

 

                            

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Teach general physical education to students
2. Coordinate and organize field day events.
3. Highlight student achievements in the school and community.

4. Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.

5. Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.

6. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

7. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

8. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

9. Effectively implement district initiatives.

10. Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.

11. Other duties as assigned

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:   

1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
2. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators.
3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
5. Serve on committees as assigned.
6. Remain current on instructional practices in education.
